Florence Food Share, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Florence, Oregon, seeks a part-time Executive Director. Florence Food Share is an emergency food pantry with an operating budget of $358,000. This position is responsible for the oversight of the financial operations of the organization, providing leadership in fundraising activities, and building relationships with government representatives, partners, funders, volunteers and stakeholders. General Scope of Duties The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer for Florence Food Share.
Major Responsibilities • Provide direct oversight of the financial operations of the organization. • Provide leadership in fundraising activities. • Build relationships with government representatives, partners, funders, volunteers and stakeholders. • Provide recommendations and support to the organization’s Board of Directors. • Ensure a safe facility and work environment. • Coordinate policy and planning activities. • Support major programs and projects in development, operations and capacity-building. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Duties
Operations: 1. Serve as Food Share’s advocate at the local, county and state levels to alleviate hunger; work with the Board of Directors to achieve the goals and objectives of Florence Food Share. 2. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and partner agency agreements governing the operation of the food pantry. 3. Represent Florence Food Share to the community, making presentations as invited or as pertinent to community and business organizations. 4. Actively network with FOOD for Lane County, United Way of Lane County, Oregon Food Bank, and other community service agencies as appropriate to the goals and objectives of Florence Food Share. 5. Develop and implement new programs as needed to improve access for clients and adapt to changing needs of client base. 6. Supervises the Operations Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.
Administration: 1. Foster a good working relationship with the Board of Directors. 2. Serve as an ex officio committee member on all standing Board Committees, including Executive Committee, Budget/Finance Committee, and Grant/Fund Raising Committee. 3. Direct and manage Florence Food Share’s resources to ensure budgetary compliance and fiscal integrity in both the short and long term. 4. Develop and manage fundraising strategies to meet budgetary goals. 5. Work with the Board to establish strategic plans and organization policies, and implement same relative to the objectives of Food Share. 6. Write and secure grants while maintaining compliance with grant guidelines, contracts, timelines and reporting requirements. 7. Identify, cultivate and maintain local, regional and national contacts with new gift prospects from all constituencies. Cultivate key community relationships to secure donations.
Requirements and Qualifications 1. College Degree or equivalent experience required. 2. Minimum of three years’ experience in supervisory or management position; non-profit experience preferred. 3. Knowledge of Local, State and Federal requirements for operating a non-profit business. 4. Knowledge of budget development, financial management and reporting, and personnel management. 5. Excellent management and organizational skills with the ability to prepare written reports on a timely basis. 6. Excellent communication skills and effective public speaking capability. 7. Computer and technology skills required: Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point. Experience in utilizing social media for business outreach and working knowledge of QuickBooks desired. 8. Ability to work cooperatively and productively with individuals from all levels of education and socio-economic backgrounds.

We serve the communities of Florence, Dunes City, Westlake and surrounding areas. Florence Food Share requires all individuals and families needing food to fill out an application in order to receive our services. We require this upon your first visit to our pantry, and once a year thereafter, each July. This form provides us with basic information which is never shared with any outside agency. You can come in to our pantry to fill out this application or you can print one from the "Client Application" link below:
