FOOD SHARE IS GETTING A FACELIFT!
Beginning Monday, September 29th, and for approximately 7-8 business days thereafter, Florence Food Share will be installing new flooring in our pantry. During renovations, our clients will not be able to walk around the pantry, in the shopper style that we currently utilize. Because of this, we will be serving our clients in the old fashioned, "food box" style. Clients will place their order, as they do now, and our volunteers will fill that order. In addition, for the first 2-3 days of the installation, we will be filling orders from the back of our building, as the flooring will be replaced in the lobby first. After the lobby floor has been replaced, we will re-open the lobby and continue to fill food box orders for the next several days until the flooring in the entire pantry is complete. Thank you for your patience while Food Share gets a face lift!
Florence Food Share is an emergency food box pantry located in Florence, Oregon, that provides emergency food to those in need, free of charge. We serve the communities of Florence, Dunes City and Westlake.
Fund Raising Campaign: One More Day Left!!!! Ends Sept. 30th.
During the entire month of September, Food Share has been given the opportunity to promote our food pantry on Global Giving, an online "crowd funding" platform. Global Giving reaches millions of people every day, and it is our hope to raise $6,000 in order to have funding to expand our operating hours.
This online fund raising event is to help Food Share raise money to be open on Saturdays, which is a much needed service. A large percentage of our clients are the "working poor", and have a very difficult time getting to the pantry during our current open hours. Being open on Saturday mornings will help facilitate these people getting to our pantry. Our funding event ends tomorrow, so if you wanted to make a donation please click on this link: http://goto.gg/17776
This fund raiser ends at Midnight, Eastern time, tomorrow, September 30th. We need $6,000 in order to expand our open pantry hours, and all donations will be held and allocated toward Saturday morning hours, until we do reach our $6,000. Thank you!!!
Florence Food Share requires all individuals and families needing a food box to fill out an application in order to receive our services. We require this upon your first visit to our pantry, and once a year thereafter, each July. This form provides us with basic information which is never shared with any outside agency. You can come in to our pantry to fill out this application or you can print one from the link below:
